Getting Started with Lui Ledger
Lui Ledger is a personal bookkeeping application built around double-entry bookkeeping. It keeps your financial data on your own machine, encrypted at rest, and works fully offline.
This section is the in-app help center: concept guides, how-to steps for every page, and reference tables for every field and setting. It ships inside Lui Ledger and works offline, and it is searchable with ⌘K / Ctrl+K.
Where to start
- New to double-entry bookkeeping? Start with Double-entry bookkeeping for the five account types and the balance equation.
- Setting up your bookkeeping? Read Accounts and Commodities to shape your chart of accounts and currencies.
- Recording activity day to day? See Transactions, or Import and Smart Rules if you are bringing in bank files.
- Building an overview? See Dashboard for widgets, and the Widgets section for every widget's settings.
